The CNC Tool & Die Maker is responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of precision tools, dies, and molds used in the manufacturing of plastic injection and transfer molding processes. This role requires expertise in the use and programming of CNC and conventional machinery to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in tooling operations.
Are You Looking to:
- Fabricate and repair precision molds for plastic injections and transfer molding of rubber and thermoplastics.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (milling, turning, EDM) and conventional machines (lathes, grinders, etc.).
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise fabrication.
- Conduct mold maintenance and modifications to optimize performance and longevity.
Are You Ready to:
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the tool room and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain inventory of tooling materials and request supplies as needed.
- Train and mentor junior technicians as required.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss tooling strategies and improvements.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Technical degree with a specialization in tool and die making, or equivalent.
- Candidates with only technical education must have verifiable experience in CNC operation and programming.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in tool and die making with expertise in plastic injection and rubber/thermoplastic molding.
- Proficient in CNC machine operation and programming (e.g., G-code, CAD/CAM software).
- Strong knowledge of conventional machining processes.
- Experience in mold maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
